Moonlight Magic

Moonlight Magic

Join us for our annual Christmas tree-lighting ceremony on Temperance Street, featuring children's entertainment, carol sing, and a visit from Santa himself.  Come early to grab a spot on our large grandstands in front of the stage.  The ceremony starts at 6:30pm, but there's plenty to do while you wait.

Enjoy complimentary horse-drawn wagon rides along the main street starting at 5pm.  Grab some dinner, snacks, and a hot drink from our vendors or one of the great restaurants and cafes located downtown.  Listen to the sounds of our local choirs and bell-ringers.  Snap a photo or selfie with our surprise guest mascots.   Make a donation to our local food and toy drives.   And be sure to visit our downtown small businesses offering extended shopping hours until 9PM for one-night only!

FREE ADMISSION.  FREE PARKING.

Please consider making a donation to Feed The Need in Durham at the corner of King & Temperance.  Non-perishable food donations accepted and/or monetary donations where every $1 donated equals 2 meals served!

Plus, Santa's favourite elves will be peeking out of select store windows from December 1 to 31.  See how many you can spot in our FIND THE ELVES window hunt.

NOTE:  Temperance Street closed ALL DAY FRIDAY.   Road closures in effect beginning 4PM Friday, with no street parking after 3PM.   Parking available in municipal lots located on King Street, Silver Street, Church Street, and Division Street, and on local side streets.
